What is an AP Portfolio?
The AP portfolio is a collection of process images, finished artworks, and writing that emphasizes critical thinking and intentional decision-making. Artworks must show an understanding of design and art concepts. They must also show a synthesis of materials and ideas through practice, experimentation, and revision
What was my AP Drawing Sustained Investigation portfolio about?
How can I use my daily interactions to uncover the hidden complexities of reflections in our world? By examining the unnoticed details and the unseen perspectives, I shed light on the complex nature of human interaction and the complicated yet simple relationships that shape our lives. Through the use of various artistic depictions, I aim to use the concept of reflections to show both hidden and obvious relationships in our daily experiences with the goal of encouraging others to take light to their own relationships and experiences in new ways.
My exploration of human interactions with the world through a variety of reflections is accomplished through a slow progression from simple to more complex relationships. I start with the exploration of frequently encountered reflections like spoons (1,2,3). I then start to explore more nuanced situations through exploration of ephemeral or fleeting moments such as reflections in a bubble (6) or tossed away foil (5). Finally transitioning to focus on more than one reflection, like ornaments (8), later taking into account diverse connections & introducing human contact. (7,8,9,10,12,14)
